Ag burning, not good for our health

When we think about living in rural areas, we think of clean, fresh air.
Here in the Imperial Valley, though, the air is tainted by dust, farm chemicals, auto emissions and other contaminants. Asthma rates in Imperial County are always among the highest in California, and people die here from asthma and other breathing issues way too often.
EPA official visits Comite Civico del Valle

With the hope of receiving additional help to continue to run their programs, Comite Civico del Valle welcomed Janet McCabe from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to showcase the wide array of efforts the organization is doing throughout the Valley.
Comite Civico del Valle talked about several of their programs such as Respira Sano, a program to help resident to take proper steps to recognize and prevent asthma attacks and also discussed the Citizen Science program which involved the installation of air monitors throughout the county which are used to get a better picture of air pollution through the region.
